Who is Option One Homes?

Option One Homes is a real estate rental and management company that makes single family homes and apartments available for rent. Our team is here to help you find the perfect fit for your situation, and then help you move in and enjoy living there! We’re headquartered in Maryland.

New single family homes and apartments are being added on a real-time basis. So it’s a good idea to check back every few days to see the latest inventory of rentals. If you’re looking for something specific, you can always email us at info@optiononehomes.com.

If you have a lease ending soon, or are on any kind of deadline, you can still search through Option One Homes, and if you find something you like, can move in relatively quickly. As a rule, we recommend beginning your search at least three to four months before you want to move.

Yes. We understand that pets are integral to people’s lives and often become “part of the family.” That’s why we show properties that allow pets. There are some minor restrictions (only domesticated pets, and some dog breeds are not allowed,) but otherwise we’re happy to allow pets.

There are some basic requirements to become a renter through Option One Homes. You must be a legal citizen of the United States, you must be able to provide proof of income, and you must be at least 18 years of age.

Generally, the upfront fees our renters pay are first month’s rent and a security deposit. But there won’t be any surprises – when you work with Option One, we’ll let you all the fees that will be expected with each property at the time you’re first presented with all the details.

We typically require that the primary renter’s income be at least 2.5 times the monthly rent. You’ll find that is lower than most rental companies, who require sometimes 3X or 4X income to rent ratios. We will also take into consideration multiple earners sharing rent (also subject to review and approval.) We do look for renters with a minimum credit score of at least 575.

Rent is due on the first day of every month.
